Computer hardware is the physical part of a computer, including the digital circuitry, as distinguished from the computer software that executes within the hardware.
The hardware of a computer is infrequently changed, in comparison with software and data, which are "soft" in the sense that they are readily created, modified or erased on the computer.
Firmware is a special type of software that rarely, if ever, needs to be changed and so is stored on hardware devices such as read-only memory (ROM) where it is not readily changed (and is, therefore, "firm" rather than just "soft").
Objective:
The physical component of a computer system, including any peripheral equipment such as printers, modems, mouse, etc which we can touch, see or feel.
computing hardware encompasses the hardware, its architecture, and its impact on software.
The elements of computing hardware have undergone significant improvement over their history.
This improvement has triggered worldwide use of the technology, performance has improved and the price has declined.
Computers are accessible to ever-increasing sectors of the world's population.
Computing hardware has become a platform for uses other than computation, such as automation, communication, control, entertainment, and education.
Each field in turn has imposed its own requirements on the hardware, which has evolved in response to those requirements. |
